A native of Chicago, Terry Lynch is a 30-plus year veteran in the shipping and freight forwarding field. He began his shipping career in Chicago working with ocean carriers in the African, Australian, European and South African trade lanes. His desire to further his knowledge and industry experience led him to accept a promotion and transfer to Los Angeles where he developed intermodal programs and held sales and marketing positions for ocean carriers based in Japan, Australia, China, India and South Korea.
Terry joined the NVOCC side of the business in 1990 to expand his experience in marketing, business development, administration and business expansion. His quest for a new challenge resulted in creating his own opportunity to run a business that would maximize his acquired knowledge and established network. He became the founding partner and President of the Transcon U.S. offices and is based in Los Angeles. He holds a senior decision making, financial and managerial role in the group.
Before immigrating to the U.S., Josephine studied at a vocational school in Hong Kong and was employed at NVOCC, WTC Airfreight/Wice in Hong Kong office together with current Transcon Hong Kong partners, Terence Lau and Thomas Wong. Josephine is one of the founding employees at the Transcon Los Angeles office joining in 1997 in a customer service capacity. Josephine’s work experience in Hong Kong combined with the tremendous amount of industry knowledge on many levels over the years in the U.S. is evident with her responsibility today as Assistant Vice President and Controller. Josephine travels between Transcon’s U.S. branch offices and has spent time overseas with the Company’s agent partners.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science from Elmhurst College with a double major in Spanish and International Business in 1999. Mike started his career in the shipping field with International Freight Services in Illinois in 1999 starting in the accounting department, moving to ocean import Customer Service/Operations and onto sales the last two years at ISF. During Mike’s 19 years with Transcon, he has moved from Marketing Executive to Sales Manager –Chicago Office, to Director –Marketing for both the Chicago and Hoboken offices to his current position of Assistant Vice President. Mike has travelled numerous times overseas and has met with many of Transcon’s overseas agents and the numerous factories to the Company’s customers.
Chris Cervana attended the University of St. Thomas, Manila, Philippines and completed a four year degree in Computer Science prior to returning to the U.S. Chris began his shipping career at Shipco in a customer service position. Chris made a move to work at the Pactrans Los Angeles office in 1995 as an inside sales coordinator. Chris is one of the founding employees at the Transcon Los Angeles office when it opened in 1997, joining in a sales capacity and ultimately rising to the position of Director Marketing –West Coast. Chris has also had many opportunities to travel overseas to meet with Transcon agents and with many of the factories that supply to Transcon’s customers.
With over 20 years’ experience in the Hong Kong shipping and freight forwarding field, Terence Lau has been working directly with ocean carriers and freight forwarders in the Hong Kong, China and the U.S. markets. In 1987, he joined the Wice Freight Group Hong Kong office as a Shipping Supervisor. A career move took him to the Pactrans Marine Hong Kong office where he expanded his experience in all aspects of the business allowing him to move into various management roles.
Mr. Lau seized the opportunity to live in Australia for two years and obtained valuable shipping exposure within that market. A founding partner of Transcon Hong Kong, he holds a senior role in management for the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices where he has responsibility for the organization and business development at both locations.
Thomas Wong has over 20 years of experience in the shipping field with an emphasis on trade between Hong Kong, China and the U.S. markets. At the start of his career, Mr. Wong worked for the well-known Taiwanese-based steamship carrier, CNC Line, where he expanded his expertise in all aspects of the shipping field. In 1989, he joined the NVOCC field as a sales representative focusing on business development between Hong Kong and the U.S.
In 1992, Mr. Wong took on additional responsibilities by joining another NVOCC as the Sales Manager. Mr. Wong developed strategies and established a sales team that successfully developed LCL consolidation programs and full container business to the U.S. markets.
He is a founding partner of Transcon Hong Kong with responsibilities for the sales management of the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices. He currently holds the position of Sales Director.
